IT’S SOURCED FROM the leaves of the Eucalyptus tree, which is native to Australia. The leaves are crushed and steam distilled to extract the oil. Fun fact: The Blue Mountains in Australia get their ‘blue’ colour from the vast number of Eucalyptus trees that are present. The eucalyptus oil from the trees rise into the atmosphere, and when combined with dust and water vapour, scatter short-wave length light rays that are predominately blue in colour. The result is the blue haze that you often see when looking over the mountains on a warm day.
